Polyphony Digital once again did it this generation, no other console or even a PC game was able to reach the level of racing cars detail this Japanese based developer achieved, an astounding set of over 1000+ car, a promised gorgeous 1080p running at 60fps gameplay, cinematic looking photo-realistic replays and over 5 years of development that seemed like it really payed off well at the end of the day..
Nonetheless this game has set a new bar over the level of details a console based game could ever reach, pushing the boundaries of what the PlayStation 3 can do even on a 5 year old hardware.
Although the perfectionist creator Kazunori apparently wasn't satisfied enough with GT5 due to "PS3's hardware limitation".
still the game is looking light years ahead of what other simulation driving games brought on to the market this generation.
Notice Gran Turismo 5 will be officially released at the 24th of November 2010.

ReplyDeleteJeez Kaz man I know what its like to be an artist and never satisfied but these screenshots are breathtaking. Car porn at its finest, I can already tell I'm going to spend hours in photo mode and even just admiring my cars in the garage... Uhh so gorgeous...
ReplyDeleteDon't get me wrong, these are very good. But photo realistic? C'mon – only to a chimp. Every image is blindingly obviously still digital. We're still a good way from true photo realism in games.
